Vietnam Veterans Honored in Ellison Bay

Around 40 people showed up at the Military Honor Circle on the grounds of the Liberty Grove Historical Society in Ellison Bay on Thursday, March 29 – National Vietnam War Veterans Day – to recognize and thank veterans who served between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 13, 1975. Vietnam-era Navy nurse Faith Murray welcomed the veterans and their families. Pastor Jim Honig of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church gave the invocation, and Bill Becker, commander of Billy Weiss American Legion Post 527, presented commemorative pins to the veterans. Sister Bay Interim Administrator Janal Suppanz sang a spirited national anthem. Photo by Jim Lundstrom.
