View Perseid Meteor Shower at Newport State Park Aug. 12

Join UW-Madison astronomy students for a presentation during Universe in the Park on Aug. 12, 8:30 pm, at Newport State Park, 475 Cty NP in Ellison Bay. Look through a high-powered telescope to view the Perseid meteor shower on peak viewing night, and enjoy the darks skies at Wisconsin’s only International Dark Sky Park.

Meet at the shelter building, Lot 3. Seating is limited, so take a blanket or chairs and a flashlight or headlamp with a red filter to protect night vision. This program is free, but a state-park vehicle sticker is required.
