Vikings Tame Tigers in Peninsula Football

Braden Sitte scored five touchdowns Friday when Gibraltar’s football team remained undefeated and won its Peninsula Conference football game at Gillett, 48-19.

Sitte caught touchdown passes from Brady Kita of 67, 34 and 33 yards, rushed into the end zone from 28 yards away and returned a fumble 75 yards for a score.

The Vikings, who led 34-13 at halftime, tallied their other two touchdowns in the first half when Kita threw scoring strikes of 15 and seven yards to Will Lecy.

Kita completed 14 of 22 passes for 268 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Sitte accounted for 211 of those passing yards on seven receptions.

Gibraltar outgained the Tigers in total offense, 333 to 241 yards.

The Vikings, who improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in Peninsula play, will host the game between the two remaining undefeated conference teams Sept. 29 when they face Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas for Homecoming.
