Vikings Wallop Wausaukee in Peninsula Football

There was no nailbiter for Gibraltar’s football team Friday when the Vikings won their Peninsula Conference game at Wausaukee, 53-22.

Gibraltar, which had won its two previous league games by three points each, led 33-8 at halftime and pulled in front by more than 35 points in the third quarter to put the game on running time.

Of the Vikings eight touchdowns, six of them were on passes from Brady Kita to Braden Sitte, who ended up catching 12 passes for 399 yards. 

Kita, who ended up completing 14 of 19 passes for 461 yards, threw another touchdown pass of 33 yards to Marshall Maltby and also intercepted a Ranger pass 23 yards for a pick-six.

Gibraltar outgained Wausaukee in total offense, 536 to 203 yards.

The Vikings, who remain undefeated at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference, play their next league game Sept. 22 at Gillett.
