Village Administrator Hired in Sister Bay

Matthew Zeke Jackson was hired as the Sister Bay village administrator on July 10.

“Of the five individuals that were interviewed he was clearly the best fit for the village,” Robert Kufrin said. “He had outstanding communication skills. Both on his reference and at the interview he had a lot of really good ideas. He is a very hardworking individual, very professional, very ethical and the committee thought he would do a great job for the village.”

Kufrin, former village administrator, announced his retirement in April. He helped the hiring committee find his replacement and will act as interim village administrator until Jackson arrives in October.

Jackson is the current town manager of Exmore, Va., and before that worked in Fremont, N.C.

“[Jackson] had a very good understanding of the role of the administrator as compared to the board,” Kufrin said. “He understood that the board provides the direction, the board sets the policies, the board represents the community, and that his role is to implement those policies, to follow those directives and to provide information to he board to make good decisions.”
