Volunteer at Crossroads!

Crossroads at Big Creek continues Nature by Appointment, Tuesday – Saturday, at 9, 10 or 11 am. Families, individuals, or two or three friends – all wearing face masks and practicing social distancing – may participate in a 45-minute, private outdoor nature program with a naturalist.

To make the appointment, email [email protected] with “Nature by Appointment” as the subject line. List the names of participants, ages of children, days and  times when you’re available, and the program topic of your choice: monarchs and milkweeds of Meadow Trail, insect-evidence scavenger hunt or fossils.

Volunteers are needed July 24, 7-9 am; and July 28, 6-8 pm, to make progress with the Begin with the Creek ecological-restoration project. Volunteers must adhere to social distancing and are asked to supply their own water, sunscreen and boots. All other equipment and instruction will be provided.

Crossroads is inviting members of Wild Ones and other friends to help tame the Native Garden at the Collins Learning Center on July 24 and 25, 8-9:30 am. Take gloves, your own beverage and a weeding tool or nippers for culling invasive species. A mask is recommended.
