Volunteer for Spring Workdays with Door County Invasive Species Team

The Door Stewardship Alliance will hold Weekly Workdays in Door County’s natural areas. The alliance is a group of volunteers that conduct land management activities and invasive species control on natural areas owned by the Door County Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy. Spring workdays usually include activities such as garlic mustard pulling and trail maintenance. Volunteers typically meet each Tuesday, but there may be additional weekday or weekend opportunities. Spring workdays will be held at The Rushes Wilderness Foundation – Kangaroo Lake. Workdays will involve the following activities: planting and care of trees and prairie butterfly habitat, invasive species control, and trail maintenance. Those interested can volunteer any day or time that they are available. Workday times and dates are: April 26 & 27 and May 24 & 25, 9 am – 5 pm; April 28 & May 26, 9 am – 12 pm. The Rushes will provide lunch, snacks and drinks after work on the full-day workdays. The Rushes will provide lodging in Sturgeon Bay for those wishing to participate.
