Volunteer for the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has a volunteer service extension in Door County that provides emergency services. Financial support for people in critical situations comes from donations and the money raised locally during the bell-ringing campaign that starts in November.

Assistance to those in need through vouchers and direct payments are available for rent, utilities and other urgent situations. People with immediate needs may call the local Salvation Army hotline at 920.885.1260 to discuss assistance options.

The Salvation Army’s Door County service extension operates with volunteers, and there are immediate openings for local board members (with meetings four times per year), bell-ringer coordination for five locations and bell ringers for this year’s Kettle Campaign.

Prospective volunteers may contact Nancy Kexel-Calabresa at 920.883.7886 or [email protected], and monetary donations may be sent to P.O. Box 644, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
