Walgreens Wins Sister Bay Shopko Pharmacy at Auction

The Sister Bay Shopko pharmacy was one of 63 Shopko pharmacies that Walgreens won at auction as the Green Bay-based retailer gets out of the pharmacy business in a financial restructuring. The company had 120 pharmacies on the auction block. CVS, Rite Aid and grocers Albertsons and Kroger were among other successful bidders.

“Prescription records will automatically transfer to the Walgreens pharmacy at 808 S. Duluth Ave. in Sturgeon Bay,” Phil Caruso, of Walgreens media relations, told the Pulse. “Patients will not need to take any action and will receive more details in the mail once the transfer occurs. As a Walgreens patient, they will have access to all the services Walgreens offers, including our nationwide prescription delivery service. At this stage I do not have any details on the timing of when the transfer will occur.”

The prescription delivery service offered by Walgreens is through the mail. The company website advises that not every insurance plan covers home delivery, and consumers should contact their insurance company to determine eligibility.
