Ward, Fairchild Will Run for Mayor

Mayor Thad Birmingham has not yet announced if he intends to run for re-election in April, but two others have joined the race.

Third District Alderman David Ward has taken out papers to seek the seat, as has Shawn Fairchild, a member of the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society who has been active in discussions regarding the west waterfront and the Teweles and Brandeis grain elevator.

Ward has filed for non-candidacy for District 3 alderman, while Barbara Allmann reversed course and has taken out non-candidacy papers for District 5.

The deadline for taking out papers to run for city office is Jan. 2 at 5 pm. The deadline for incumbents to file non-candidacy is Dec. 21. The following candidates have taken out papers to run for city council.
