Washington Island Art Association Exhibits at UU Gallery

The current UU Gallery exhibit showcases artists who are members of the Washington Island Art Association (WIAA).

The WIAA was formed in the early 1960s by a group of artists who gathered on Washington Island at Martha Stelter’s Holiday Inn to paint and make art. The WIAA has continued to grow in popularity and today sponsors numerous classes, open workshops and art shows.

This year the WIAA show offers works by artists in watercolor, pastel, oil, mixed media, acrylic, fiber and pen and ink. A variety of subject matter is expressed, from realistic lighthouses, water and landscapes, to abstract birds and trees. Some of the artists showing their work include Pat Wright, Bob Anderson, Barb Mathews, Joel Wish, Gary Hanks, Jane Miller, Judy Yamamoto, Judy Jones, Patti Cauldwell, Margaret Young, Martha Wagner, Barb Leonard, Bob Koch and Jewel Lee Grandy.

The UU Gallery is free and open to the public. It is located at 10341 Hwy 42 in north Ephraim. The gallery is open 1–4 pm Monday through Friday, and 11 am–12 pm Sunday. For more information, call 920.854.7559.
