Washington Island Art Association (WIAA) at the UU Gallery

The current art gallery show at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) features artists who are members of the Washington Island Art Association (WIAA). The WIAA was formed in the early 1960s by a group of artists who gathered on Washington Island at Martha Stelter’s Holiday Inn to paint and make art. The WIAA has continued to grow in popularity as they sponsor many classes, open workshops and art shows. Washington Island’s pristine land and water vistas offer endless subjects to inspire artists.

This year the show offers works by artists specializing in watercolor, pastel, oil, mixed media, acrylic, and pen & ink. A variety of subject matter is expressed from realistic lighthouses, water, and landscapes, to abstract birds and trees.

WIAA will show at UUFDC throughout January. The UU Gallery is free and open to the public. It is located at 10341 Hwy 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.7559.
