Washington Island Ferry 2018 Report

The Door County Facilities & Parks Committee received the annual report of the Washington Island Ferry Line for commercial activity in 2018.

Ferry line President Hoyt Purinton noted that the line missed only six scheduled trips during the entire year – all due to the April 15, 2018, snowstorm that dumped as much as 30 inches of snow on the region. He also pointed out that the ferry line paid $200,064 for improvements to the county-owned Northport Pier, which included adding a new ramp and hydraulics designed for high-water conditions.
