Water Buffalo Cheddar Now Available

For those who need a conversation starter and a great cheese, Wisconsin Cheese Masters is featuring Water Buffalo Cheddar at the store in Egg Harbor. This is a very limited engagement. The three-year aged Water Buffalo cheddar is making an exclusive Door County appearance. To celebrate the arrival of the cheese, all sales that include a piece of Water Buffalo cheddar are 10 percent off through the end of the year, while very limited supplies last.

The cheese is made from the milk of a small herd of Water Buffalo near Plain, Wis. The dairy farmer, Dubi Ayalon, started his herd a few years ago and it is growing strong.

Other than the superb taste of the Water Buffalo cheese, the best part is that Water Buffalo milk has 37 percent more iron, 11 percent more protein and 9 percent more calcium than cow’s milk. And, it is naturally very low in cholesterol.
