On Friday, August 13 at 7 pm, the Water Street Hot Shots, winners of the 2009 Grafton Blues Challenge, will perform at Woodwalk Gallery.
The Water Street Hot Shots draw from acoustic musical styles of the 1920s and ‘30s. Their repertoire includes old-time blues, ragtime, novelty, and “hokum” party music. Listeners can expect to hear slide-guitar in the style of masters like Son House and Tampa Red.
Their music has it’s roots in the time and the music of people like the Memphis Jug Band, The Mississippi Sheiks, Skip James & the Delmore Brothers.
Sweetie Pies of Fish Creek will be on site with coffee, beer and soft drinks for sale. Attendees are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine.
Woodwalk Gallery and Events barn is located south of Egg Harbor, one mile west of Highway 42 at 6746 Highway G. Tickets are $15 at the door. No reservations. For more information call 920.868.2912 or 920.495.2928. For more information about Hot Shots’ visit http://www.ammonshotshots.com.
