Water Street Hots Shots Perform at Woodwalk Gallery

On Friday, August 13 at 7 pm, the Water Street Hot Shots, winners of the 2009 Grafton Blues Challenge, will perform at Woodwalk Gallery.

The Water Street Hot Shots draw from acoustic musical styles of the 1920s and ‘30s. Their repertoire includes old-time blues, ragtime, novelty, and “hokum” party music. Listeners can expect to hear slide-guitar in the style of masters like Son House and Tampa Red.

Their music has it’s roots in the time and the music of people like the Memphis Jug Band, The Mississippi Sheiks, Skip James & the Delmore Brothers.

Sweetie Pies of Fish Creek will be on site with coffee, beer and soft drinks for sale. Attendees are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine.
