Water Testing Available

• Residents of the Village of Egg Harbor and the towns of Egg Harbor and Baileys Harbor can have their water tested by the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point Center for Watershed Science and Education. Residents should register by calling the town office at 920.839.9509.

Participants can pick up bottles at the town office during regular office hours (9 am – 3 pm Monday through Thursday, and 10 am – noon on Friday) from Aug. 12 – Aug. 16. On Sunday, Aug. 18, participants should bring a water sample to the Egg Harbor Village Office from 11 am – 1 pm.

There are three options available for sampling results. The Homeowners Package costs $49, and tests for coliform bacteria, nitrate, chlorine, hardness, alkalinity, and pH. The Metals Package costs $42, and tests for arsenic, lead, copper, iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, potassium and sulfate. The DACT Screen Package costs $27 and tests for a breakdown component of atrazine-type pesticides. All three packages cost $110.

• There are positions open on the Village of Sister Bay’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Teen Center Board. Village residents interested in participating should call the village hall at 920.854.4118. Both committees meet monthly.
