Watercolor and Fused Glass Class

There will be a two-day watercolor and fused glass workshop in Sturgeon Bay on Feb. 18 and 19. Day one is at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club from 11am – 3pm. Bring watercolor supplies. The class will work on a single painting or several square shaped paintings, which will incorporate birch trees, various shades of green pine trees, possibly sky, possibly water and maybe snowfall. The focus will be on simple shapes and overlapping of the trees. Students will meet Doug and Barb Henderson and they will talk about glass. Lunch is included. Students then may go out to have a few Xerox copies made of their paintings and come back to cut them up into pattern sections. The finished size of the glass will be 12” x 12”.

Day two is going to be at the Hendersons Playhouse. Time will be from 1 – 4 pm. Students will get help creating this same design in fused glass. The glass will have to stay at the glass studio for a few days to be fired. The finished piece of glass should fit perfectly into a simple flat black metal frame. All the glass and the firing is included in this two-day workshop. Class size is limited to six people and the course costs $120.
