Weber Elected to Board of advisers of National Trust

Christie Weber of Sturgeon Bay, has been elected to the Board of Advisors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation; she will serve as advisor to the national nonprofit preservation organization for an initial three-year term.

For more than a decade, Weber has worked against the demolition of the Sturgeon Bay Bridge and supported restoration of this historic property. The “Steel Bridge Songfest” event has raised funds, awareness, and education on this effort that can serve as a model for other communities looking for unique ways to preserve their historic resources. Weber owns and rehabilitates historic properties, currently serves on the local planning commission, and is a past board member of the Sturgeon Bay Main Street, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation, chartered by Congress in 1949, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the irreplaceable. It fights to save historic buildings and the neighborhoods and landscapes they anchor.
