Lovers of dance and music should make time for this year’s Door County Folk Festival, July 8 – 12, an extended weekend of dancing and camaraderie.
This year’s staff are: guest dance instructors Marty Koenig, Larry Weiner and Dot Kent; Bulgarian singing instructor Tzvety Dosseva Weiner; musicians Lyuti Chushki Orchestra, Nick Bratkovich, A Rare Privilege and Chirps Smith; and a cast of local group leaders for beginning to advanced dance workshops.
This year’s activities include Balkan folk dance workshops, Bulgarian singing classes, Balkan culture classes and flatfooting/clogging workshops.
There will also be dance parties every night (as late as there are dancers), a potluck picnic dinner, a fish boil dinner, silent auction benefit and mini-concerts. For complete information visit dcff.net.
