Weekend Programs at UUFDC

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC) welcomes two guests this weekend: Anna Knapp and Art Kopischke.

Knapp, a Door County mother and vice president of the UUFDC, is working to give local people a means to share the real-world experiences of women and mothers – and what they care about – with local, state and national government leaders by partnering with MomsRising.

To this end, she will lead a postcard-writing party March 25, 1-3 pm. Postcards, stamps and light snacks will be provided, and a child-care provider will be on-site.

Kopischke, a 2013 Gibraltar graduate and multimedia theater artist, will present “01000010  01101001 01101110 01100001 01110010  01111001 {binary}” on March 26, 10 am. The program will explore and expose how societal binaries have shaped our collective worldview. Kopischke will use gender theory to interrogate binary dinosaurs in our society, taking examples from purity culture, morality tales, two-party systems and reality-TV competitions.
