Weekend ReCAP

_I started out the weekend with a nap, a lovely one-hour nap, followed by dinner with two of my Door County besties. We shared a large deluxe at Northern Grill in Sister Bay while sipping on Spotted Cows and Guinness – a meal in itself.

_The warm sunshine burned out the chill in the air Saturday morning, providing a perfect chance to buzz to Whitefish Dunes State Park and keep my summer glow a few days longer. I read a few chapters of my current read, The Thirteen Tale, and listened to some sweet tunes.

_Famished and sun-soaked, I grabbed a late afternoon lunch at Town Hall Bakery in Jacksonport. I ate delicious sliders with local meat and veggies, watermelon salsa, and a tasty, tart cherry iced tea.

_After another weekend nap, and an episode or two of The Sopranos, I slipped on a blue dress and met friends for some Chianti, mushroom ravioli, and meatballs over spaghetti with marinara at Pasta Vino in Ellison Bay.

_Stuffed, we pulled on blue jeans and trekked to a friend’s waterfront home where an old cabinet provided plenty of firewood for a towering bonfire. The beginnings of the Perseid meteor shower lit the sky with dazzling streaks of light. I made one or two wishes.

_After weeks of relying on spontaneous swims and casual walks through the park for exercise, I slipped my soft, un-calloused feet in my neglected running shoes. I used the siting of a yellow furry caterpillar as an excuse to catch my breath mid-run/walk.

_After some leftover Pasta Vino and a walk through bustling Fish Creek, I made my way to Camp David near Fish Creek where Door County favorites JT & the Clouds and friends rocked the barn. Concertgoers of all ages boogied, shouted for an encore, and boogied some more.

A few cheese curds at the AC Tap, and I was ready to call it a weekend – an awesome, fabulous weekend!
