Well Water Study Results Revealed

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Environmental Research and Innovation Center will present results of the fall 2019 Door County Private Well Water Study in two meetings next week.

The first presentation is Dec. 9, 6 pm, at the Town of Gibraltar Fire Department and the second is Dec. 10, 6 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay ADRC.

At each event presenters will summarize the November 2019 water-sample results, provide an overview of Door County’s karst geology and how it affects groundwater quality, and recap the importance of regular testing by private well owners. The data collected are the start of a longer-term study to better understand groundwater quality in Door County.

This study is a cooperative effort between UW-Oshkosh and Door County, with funding from Door County Public Health and the Door County Soil and Water Conservation Department.
