Asleep at the Wheel

Western swing pioneers Asleep at the Wheel will perform high-energy honky-tonk music on the Door Community Auditorium main stage Aug. 28, 8 pm.

Founded in 1970, the band has long been part of the American roots-music landscape. Asleep at the Wheel got its start on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, but it became a cornerstone of the Austin, Texas, scene upon arriving there in 1973. Since then, it has racked up 10 Grammy Awards, 20 studio albums and 20 singles on the Billboard country charts.
