What Happened in Door County?

• The Village of Egg Harbor temporarily hired Michael Serpe, former county administrator, as a consultant to help transition to a new clerk and treasurer, oversee the implementation of new software, and 2013 budget preparations.

• At its August 1 meeting, the Gibraltar Town Board chose not to move forward with studying a municipal water system. Surveys about the project were sent to town residents. Most of the returned surveys were negative, showing that town residents did not want a municipal water system in Gibraltar.

• The Village of Ephraim voted to change its regular board meeting times from the second Monday of every month to the second Tuesday of every month. Gibraltar public school board meetings and Monday Night Football have conflicted with past Monday meetings. The village’s next board meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 11.
