What Happened in Door County?

• The Liberty Grove economic sustainability committee chose to recommend to the town board the purchase of a new property for use as a Liberty Grove welcome center. The property the committee will recommend is a parking lot owned by the Czepulonis family and the adjacent property owned by Dean Johnson, both located across from the Viking Grill in Ellison Bay.

• Kelly Popp, the village of Egg Harbor’s deputy clerk/treasurer, submitted her letter of resignation Aug. 21, and her last day with will be Sept. 3. Popp is leaving her position to accept the job as the village clerk for Grafton in Ozaukee County. Egg Harbor’s Administration Committee will meet Aug. 29 to discuss how to fill the open position.
