• The Town of Baileys Harbor voted to provisionally allow a prospective Wisconsin State Football League team to use the Baileys Harbor Recreational Park as its home field. At the town’s Oct. 8 meeting, representatives from the team that hopes to be known as the Door County Destroyers asked the board if they could play their home games in Baileys Harbor.
Provided the team clears the league’s process for establishing new teams and insurance matters work out, the Door County Destroyers could start playing semi-professional football games in Baileys Harbor as of next July. The Wisconsin State Football League is currently made up of seven teams from throughout the state.
