What Happened in Door County?

• Sturgeon Bay’s Winter Parking Ban went into effect on Dec. 1. The ban prohibits on-street parking from 2 to 6 am, December through April.

Special parking permit information and applications can be obtained from the city’s Municipal Services office at 835 N. 14th Ave. The cost for a pass is $55 for the season or $28 per month.

• Southern Door High School was one of 12 schools that received an Innovative Educator Grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation. The up to $1,000 grants are awarded to innovative teaching programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.

Southern Door’s grant will be used to conduct a plant tissue culture study. WPS received 32 applications for Innovative Educator Grants this year and awarded them to 14 projects.
