When All Else Fails

The Door County Sail and Power Squadron continues its 2014 summer seminar series with “Mariner’s Compass” on July 26.

So you think your Boat’s GPS is pretty slick? What happens when your electronics fail? The Marine Compass is still the boaters’ primary navigation tool and essential when all else fails. Understand how to select, install, calibrate and use a compass onboard your boat to know where you’re headed at all times. Learn which features are most important to make using your compass easy. Gain confidence in knowing what will work best for you and your boat, how to deal with variation between true and magnetic north, and how to adjust your compass to remove most of the deviation caused by local magnetic influences. This is an essential seminar for all boaters.

All seminars are held Saturday mornings from 9 – 11 am at SkipperBud’s Quarterdeck Marina in Sturgeon Bay. For more information contact Eve Gaines at [email protected] or Steve Rank, 920.743.5469 or [email protected].
