White-hot, Molten Iron

All ages are invited to participate in the festivities of the fifth annual Iron Pour Benefit at Peninsula School of Art on Oct. 11, 4 – 8 pm.

With a donation of $15, each person may create a 5″ x 5″ iron tile by scratching into a preformed sand-and-resin mold using simple tools. No reservations are required for the Iron Pour Benefit. Donations are taken at the door the day of the event.

In keeping with a festive atmosphere, Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon will provide live music from 5:30 – 8 pm. Complimentary seasonal refreshments will also be served, courtesy of Orchard Country Winery & Market and Alexander’s Restaurant, both in Fish Creek.

At dusk, the dramatic spectacle of the pouring of white-hot, molten iron begins. The pour continues until all the tiles have been filled. Tiles will be cool enough for participants to take home that evening. Proceeds from the Iron Pour will benefit the art education programs at Peninsula School of Art.

Those attending the Iron Pour may also view PenArt’s current exhibition, “Out of the Woods: Contemporary Woodblock Prints,” which will be on display through Oct. 18.

Peninsula School of Art is located at 3900 County F in Fish Creek. For more information, call 920.868.3455 or visit PeninsulaSchoolofArt.org.
