Whitefish Dunes Candlelight Ski

Snow covered trails and the soft swish of skis combined with candles will set the scene for the Whitefish Dunes State Park annual candlelight ski on Saturday, January 26 from 6 – 9 pm. Everyone is encouraged to join the Friends of Whitefish Dunes for a night of skiing and fun. The picnic shelter will be open and the fireplace lit. Hot beverages and cookies will be provided to warm the insides and provide energy.

A park sticker is required to join in the evening event, but the candlelight ski is free. A candlelight hike will replace the ski if not enough snow is present for skiing.

Whitefish Dunes State Park is located at 3275 Clark Lake Road (county WD), on the Lake Michigan shoreline south of Jacksonport. Ski trails are groomed for classic diagonal stride skiing. Snowshoeing is available on the Black Trail and on the beach. The shelter building is available daily. Please call for updated trail conditions. All programs are free to the public unless noted; a park vehicle sticker is required.

For more information about the special events, guest speakers or programs please contact the park by phone (920.823.2400), email ([email protected]) or check the on-line events calendar at the DNR website (http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/).
