Whitefish Dunes of Door County Hosts Various Events and Programs

Whitefish Dunes State Park will feature a variety of upcoming events.

Saturday, April 30 from 10 am – 2 pm, the park will host a Flower Fairy Event. Participants, who may arrive at any time, will discover native spring wildflowers found in Door County and create a fairy based on a real flower. The material cost is $5 per fairy; a free flower activity will be available. This event, supported by the Friends of Whitefish Dunes, will be held in the nature center auditorium.

Sunday, May 1 at 6:30 am the public is welcome to join amateur birders Bill and Sarah Krouse for a Bird Exploration. This adult-focused program will allow participants to explore a variety of habitats for migrating birds.

Saturday, May 7 from 9 am – 4 pm, the park will host Spring Dune Day. The public is encouraged to join the park staff and Friends of Whitefish Dunes for a day of sprucing up the park. Crews of all levels of ability, strengths and ages are needed. Children under the ages of 16 must work with a parent or guardian. Lunch will be provided for those who sign up. The morning session will begin at 9 am; the afternoon session will begin at 1 pm. Call the park to sign up.

Whitefish Dunes State Park is located at 3275 Clark Lake Road (County WD), on the Lake Michigan shoreline south of Jacksonport.
