Whitefish Dunes State Park Welcomes Winter Visitors

As the winter weather hits the peninsula and the holidays are around the corner, Whitefish Dunes State Park continues to offer visitors a splendor of activities.

Responsible pet owners and their pets are welcome at Whitefish Dunes. During the winter, dogs are allowed on the Black trail and beach; however, pets are not allowed on groomed ski trails. All pets must be on a leash no longer than eight feet at all times.

The shelter building is open to all to enjoy a warm fire with wood provided by the Friends of Whitefish Dunes. In addition to a bit of warmth, the Friends provide a variety of assistance to the park helping provide school programming, specials events and improvements to the park. The Friends bookstore is a great way to support this wonderful organization while doing holiday shopping.
