Whitefish Dunes Workday May 9

The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks are organizing a series of volunteer workdays at different parks, forests and recreation areas so that visitors can give back to the parks, forests, and trails that they love. The Friends of Whitefish Dunes encourage everyone to help out on May 9 preparing the park for the busy summer season.

Crews of all levels of ability, strengths and ages are needed throughout the day. The morning session begins at 9 am, lunch is provided at noon and the afternoon session begins at 1 pm. Work projects include blue birdhouse preparation, trail work, litter pickup, grid system installation, program equipment construction and some inside activities.

Come dressed to get dirty. Advanced registration is free, but required. All registered volunteers will receive a Work Play Earth Day aluminum water bottle.

Whitefish Dunes State Park is located at 3275 Clark Lake Road (county WD), on the Lake Michigan shoreline south of Jacksonport. Contact the park for more information or to sign up at 920.823.2400.
