Whoooo’s Coming to Pumpkin Patch?

Rob Hults from the Open Door Bird Sanctuary speaks about Aisling at Autumnfest in Baileys Harbor.

Aisling, a Eurasian Eagle Owl and educational mascot for the Open Door Bird Sanctuary, will be at Something Fishy on Oct. 11, 11 am – 1 pm, during Egg Harbor’s Pumpkin Patch Festival.

Volunteers and staff members from the Open Door Bird Sanctuary will be on hand to answer questions about Aisling and other birds of prey. In addition to interesting hands-on bird artifacts, there are plenty of kids’ activities from coloring pages to transforming into an owl.

Something Fishy is providing a beautifully painted “people size” cut out of Aisling to have pictures taken with, and will then be donated to the sanctuary to use in its own programs. People donating $10 or more will receive a free gift donated by Something Fishy (while supplies last).

The Open Door Bird Sanctuary is a private nonprofit organization that focuses on raising avian awareness. They hope to begin rehabilitation services based on filling funding and staffing needs. In 2015 they will be open to the public on a limited basis for programming at their 34-acre property.

Something Fishy is located at 7730 Highway 42 in Egg Harbor. For more information about Open Door Bird Sanctuary visit opendoorbirdsanctuary.org.
