Wild Restaurant Concepts Expands Brand with Help from DCEDC

Since opening his first restaurant in Fish Creek in 2008, customers have supported Britt Unkefer’s ideals of sustainability, fresh ingredients and local growers in his Wild Tomato restaurants.

The most recent expansion, which opened in May within the One Barrel Brewing tap room in Egg Harbor, was made possible in part with a loan from the Door County Economic Development Corporation’s (DCEDC) Revolving Loan Fund.

“Since returning home to Door County, it has been a pleasure sharing our enthusiasm for the sustainable food business,” Unkefer said. “We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received as we expand one of our brands to another Door County community. So many people have made this new restaurant possible, and we are incredibly grateful for all of the lending hands.”

Nicolet National Bank provided senior lending for the Egg Harbor project; UW-Green Bay’s Small Business Development Center and the DCEDC’s entrepreneurial development program provided business and financial-plan development.
