William A. Schneider Receives a Variety of Honors

“Steadfast” by William A. Schneider.

Crystal Lake artist William A. Schneider, currently featured at the Champeau Gallery in Sister Bay, recently received an honor award at the Mid America Pastel Society’s 2010 National Exhibition for his painting “Steadfast.” The exhibition, held at the Irene B. French Gallery of Art in Merriam, Kansas, ran from Aug. 23 through Sept. 25. Lorenzo Chavez was the Juror of Awards.

Also, Schneider’s pastel portrait “Bud at 92” has been selected to be on exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio. The exhibit will be comprised of approximately 19 selected works from the Pastel Society of America’s annual exhibition and will run from mid-Dec. through mid-Jan. Schneider is also receiving recognition in the fall issue of Workshop Magazine. The article, entitled “Strategies to Organize the Elements of Your Paintings,” was written by noted artist and author M. Stephen Dohetry and highlights Schneider’s “Design / Composition Secrets of the Masters” workshop.

“The first time I taught ‘Design Secrets of the Masters,’ the students’ progress exceeded my wildest expectations,” said Schneider. “Although the painters were at varying levels, I saw astonishing progress in each student.”
