Winners of Door County High School Art Exhibit Announced

At the April 23 Opening Reception of the 38th Annual Salon of Door County High School Art Exhibit at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, six Awards of Excellence were presented, as were six Honorable Mentions.

Awards of Excellence recipients included Allison Rittle (home school), Mackenzie Tomes (Sevastopol), Quinn Wolter (Sturgeon Bay), Jordan Lenius (Southern Door), Sage Conrad (Gibraltar), and Sophia Hagen (Washington Island). The recipients received $100.

Honorable Mentions were awarded to Robert Volpe (Gibraltar), Natalie Rose (Sturgeon Bay), Sebastian Laurent (home school), Mallory Rankin (Sevastopol), Emily Dompke (Washington Island), and Molly Annoye (Southern Door). The recipients received $50.

Awards were made possible by the generosity of Exhibit Sponsors: Altrusa Club DC, Miriam Erickson, Jacksonport Women’s Club, Hermke and Elke Timm. In addition, The Door County Art League generously gave $100 to each of the high school art departments.

The exhibit will continue through May 29.

The Miller Art Museum, located at 107 S 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, is open Monday from 10 am – 8 pm and Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm.
