Winners of Fine Art Fair Awards Announced

Jeweler Michael Thee received the Best of Show award at the 11th Annual Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair.

The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, sponsor of the Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair, have announced the award recipients from the 11th annual event, which was held May 23 and 24 at Sturgeon Bay’s Sunset Park.

In the two-dimensional category, mixed media artist Wilfred Fang took first place with second place going to painter Laura Meddaugh.

In the three-dimensional category, first place winner was woodworker Dan Benecke and second place went to woodworker Terry Boyle.

Best of Show was won by jeweler Michael Thee.

Ten artists received Honorable Mentions for their work and include local artists Cathy Barnowsky and Jenwah, along with Matthew Aaron Aicher, Barbara Ahrens, Eva Armaro Chavez, Patrice Getchow, Linanne Giersch, Gisela Moyer, Lenny Nagler and Nicholas Rostagno.

The People’s Choice Award – selected by public votes – was won by artist Barbara Mann for her jewelry and beadwork.
