Winter Art Classes At MAM

Looking for something new and creative to try? The Miller Art Museum offers winter classes for anyone age 14 or older who is interested. The classes are very short-term to accommodate busy lifestyles and provide an opportunity to discover a new medium for a very reasonable price.

Openings remain in the following three classes:

1) Creating a Coiled Basket with Sturgeon Bay artist Lynn Stracka-Schuster on Wednesday, February 13 from 6 – 8:30 pm. Students will learn the Open Coil technique using Siberian Iris leaves with waxed linen. Students will be supplied with enough materials to complete the basket. Fee: $30.

2) Painting a Cozy Winter Landscape in Watercolor with Egg Harbor artist Kari Anderson on Thursday, February 21 from 9:30 am – 3 pm. This is a beginning/intermediate class. Fee: $40.

3) Artists Trading Cards with Sue Pieper on Saturday, February 23 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Make and trade miniature cards (2.5″ by 3.5″) with your friends. This trend began in England, born of the older sports themed trading cards. Bring bits of paper, old books, stamps and create one-of-a-kind cards. See artfuladventures.com for more info. Fee: $25.

A maximum of 10 students per class allows for a great deal of individual attention. Pre-registration is necessary; call 920.746.0707.
