Winter at Whitefish Dunes Park in Door County

Whitefish Dunes State Park, which does not offer hunting within its boundaries, encourages individuals to spend a day hiking on one of their many trails during hunting season. Trek to Old Baldy or wander along the Black Trail, watching for lady ferns, club mosses and beech drops on the forest floor.

Whitefish Dunes also offers new book titles in the Friends Bookstore. The bookstore holds a great selection for children and adults, from fiction to nonfiction, field guides to Wisconsin inspired texts. Purchases from the bookstore will fund special events, guest speakers, and children programs at the park.

Whitefish Dunes State Park is located at 3275 Clark Lake Road (county WD), on the Lake Michigan shoreline south of Jacksonport. All programs are free to the public unless noted; a park vehicle sticker is required, and 2009 stickers will go on sale in December.
