Winter Trivia League at Algoma’s Steele Street Hops

On Jan. 23, 7-9 pm, Methunky Trivia will host the first in its four-part, limited-edition winter trivia league at Steele Street Hops, 322 Steele St. in Algoma. It’s open to the public and will continue Feb. 20, March 26 and April 30.  

A traditional paper-and-pen-style trivia game, competitors are encouraged to arrive early to claim seats, order a beer and come up with a creative team name. Teams are limited to eight people; no cell phone or smartwatch use is allowed. 

The Tuesday before each trivia evening, teams may check the Methunky Facebook page for an article or website to read. Answers will be pulled from the suggested readings, giving those who read the materials a competitive edge. Also expect some local history in the questions.

Area businesses – Ahnapee Brewery, Hotel Stebbins, Steele Street Hops, Target and Yardstick Books – are generously supplying prizes that will be awarded to the night’s winning team, most creative team name and individual competitors by random drawing.
