Winterfest Returns Feb. 5

Start honing your skills for the toilet-seat toss, minnow racing and ice bowling – Fish Creek’s Winterfest is back Feb. 5-6.

On Saturday, attendees will find great food, music and fun in and around the large, heated tent in Clark Park starting at 10 am. Compete in the stumpf-fiddle contest, head to Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery for the cherry-pit spit or just catch up with friends over a beverage. At dusk, fireworks will light the sky above Clark Park. A trolley will be going around town from 10 am – 5 pm.

On Sunday, at 10:30 am the Fruit Loop Fun Run will take off on the challenging, 0.49-mile course through downtown Fish Creek. Participants will be rewarded with a bowl of Fruit Loops upon returning to the main tent. And dust off those costumes because prizes will be awarded for the best dressed.

The Winterfest Sasquatch, Max, hasn’t been spotted since Winterfest 2020, and the Winterfest committee is asking for the public’s help in finding him. Join the Sasquatch Hunt starting Jan. 31 throughout Fish Creek, where he’ll be moving around town. He will have a new clue and part of a password each day. Everyone who correctly assembles the password at the end of the week and takes it to the Winterfest tent, 10-11 am on Saturday, will be entered to win a special Sasquatch/Yeti-themed raffle.

The Smokin’ Hot Chili Cook-Off and the All Things Chocolate event have been canceled because of the ongoing pandemic.
