South 42 Detour Begins Monday, June 27

Concrete repair work on Highway 42 near the 42/57 junction in the town of Nasewaupee, south of Sturgeon Bay, will close a portion of South 42 beginning June 27. The closure could last up to two weeks, but it will be open on weekends.

If work is not completed by the July 4th holiday weekend, construction will pause from noon on Friday, July 1, to 6 am Tuesday, July 5.

The closure will not impact traffice on the four-lane Highway 57 that most people travel to get to Sturgeon Bay and parts north.

Motorists will be detoured on a route to Highway H and County Road S.

The Wisconsin 42 Project in Door County is a resurfacing-level project to improve 7.2 miles beginning at the south junction of Hwy. 57 to the Bayview Bridge in the City of Sturgeon Bay. A detailed construction scope, schedule, traffic impacts and detour maps can be found here.
