Wisconsin Aquatic Ecosystems Are Topic of Next DCA Lecture

On Feb. 20, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will offer an escape from the cold with an invigorating lecture about aquatic ecosystems. DCA’s Distinguished Lecture Series will offer a lecture titled “The Effects of Disturbance in Aquatic Ecosystems,” presented by Dr. Carrie Kissman, assistant professor of biology and environmental science at St. Norbert College. In her lecture, Kissman will explore the various disturbances that have plagued water bodies throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest in the past few decades. She will discuss the causes of these disturbances, their effects on lakes and rivers, and their implications for recreational boating and fishing industries.

Kissman’s lecture is free to the public (freewill donations accepted) and is sponsored by Dahl Law Firm and Ross Estate Planning; lodging is provided by Homestead Suites. Refreshments from Base Camp Coffee Shop will be available for purchase.

DCA is located on Hwy. 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12 – 5 pm. For more information, call 920.868.2728 or visit dcauditorium.org.
