The Wisconsin State Assembly recently awarded Bo Johnson with the Hometown Hero Award. Bo was nominated for the award by State Representative Garey Bies (R-Sister Bay). Bo’s mother, Annika Johnson accepted the award on his behalf.

“Bo was a very special person who had a profound impact on our community,” exclaimed Bies. “He was wise beyond his years and extremely worthy of this recognition.”

The Hometown Heroes program recognizes individuals who’ve made their community and state proud because of their service to others through acts of selflessness and generosity.

“When this award was created, they must have had Bo Johnson in mind, ” said Bies.

Annika Johnson was presented the award and a citation recognizing Bo’s life. One clause of the citation reads “…Bo Johnson never lost his positive attitude or zest for life, inspiring an entire community to reach out and help others, and to live life to the fullest with his slogan, YOLO – you only live once.”
