Climate Change Coalition to Hold Talk at Björklunden

Tom Eggert, executive director of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council, will give a talk titled “Wisconsin Businesses are Embracing Sustainability! What’s Happening and Why” at the Climate Change Coalition of Door County’s program on Jan. 6 at 7 pm at Björklunden in Baileys Harbor.

Eggert will discuss the exciting initiatives many Wisconsin businesses are taking both to save money and help our environment by embracing sustainability in all aspects of their operations. He will describe innovative, leading-edge Wisconsin projects, as well as steps that any business can take to mitigate risk and reduce its costs and carbon footprint at the same time.

In addition to his work with the business council, Eggert is a senior lecturer in sustainability at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he has taught since 1994 and helped develop the graduate certificate in Business, Environment & Social Responsibility. He also works with the Department of Natural Resources on Wisconsin’s Environmental Leadership program. Additionally, he founded and oversees Wisconsin Microfinance, a nonprofit that raises money for microloans in Haiti and the Philippines. For more information visit climatechangedoorcounty.com.
