Wisconsin Poet Laureate Karla Huston Leads Poetry Workshop

Wisconsin Poet Laureate Karla Huston will lead a poetry workshop while in residence at Write On, Door County. “Memory Writes” is on Aug. 20 from 1 – 4 pm, at the Sister Bay Library. Tuition for the workshop is $45 and some scholarships are available.

Whether your memories are real or revised, serious or silly, Huston will show participants how to explore that material through writing prompts and exercises designed to generate great poems.

Huston is the author of eight chapbooks of poetry and the collection A Theory of Lipstick, which earned an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Wisconsin Library Association. She has published poetry as well as reviews and interviews in many state and national journals. For more information visit
