Wise Women Songwriter Circle at Woodwalk

The Wise Women Songwriter Circle will take the stage as the next show in the Woodwalk Gallery Concert Series on Friday, July 14 at 7 pm.

The Songwriter Circle features Jenny Bienemann, Gloria Attoun and Jeanne Kuhns. Jenny Bienemann is a wonderful Chicago folk singer with hip guitar riffs, vocal overlays and idiosyncratic pacing. Mining rich material from the often-overlooked moments of everyday life, she sings with a lilting, ethereal voice. Jeanne Kuhns, the series host, sings deeply personal songs flavored with blues, jazz, and progressive folk rock.

Joining Bienemann and Kuhns is Gloria Attoun, a veteran performer but a newcomer to the Door County music scene. Attoun is a prolific and talented singer/songwriter and musician from the small town of Augusta, Missouri. An amazing songwriter, Gloria has a soulful clear voice and skillfully accompanies herself of guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica.

Joining the songstresses will be performance poet Mary Durlin and belly dancer Andrea Fearing. Durlin’s words are delightful and raw, eye opening and passionate. She delivers her creations with expressive voice and body, bringing her poems to life for her audiences. Fearing performs belly dance with unequaled grace and beauty, in full costume with swords and veils.
