Within Things Presents Evening of Strange History

Within Things Curiosity Shop will present “Folklore: An Evening of Strange History and Odd Stories” on Dec. 5, 4:30 pm.

During the mid-19th century, William Thoms coined the term “folklore” to describe the verbal tradition of sharing myths, legends and otherwise unexplainable phenomena. Within Things, 242 Michigan St., #B3, in Sturgeon Bay, will continue that tradition by sharing eight stories of history and mystery inspired by items in the shop.

Among other fantastical tales, attendees will hear about the strange events in York, Pennsylvania, in 1928; a prehistoric creature that caused a Wisconsin business to close; an impossible delivery from rural England; and a seemingly noticeable presence in Sturgeon Bay’s very own Fairfield Building!

A discussion will follow, and refreshments will be served. Only 10 people (age 21 or older) will be admitted to the free event. To reserve your spot and learn more, visit withinthings.com.
