Women’s Fund’s Artrageous Benefit to Return Sept. 21

An Artrageous Benefit – celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Women’s Fund of Door County (WFDC, womensfunddoorcounty.org) and offering the chance to purchase original, 2-D and 3-D art for $99 – will return Sept. 21. A preview will begin at 3 pm at Rehberg’s Hidden Acres Farm, 11128 Beach Road in Sister Bay, and the art sale will begin at 4:15 pm. Entrance to the event is free.

During the preview, Lori Weir and Mary Beth Williamson will provide musical entertainment; Lautenbach Orchards will provide hard and soft cider tastings; plein air artists Pam Flanders, Lynn Gilchrist, Mary Mayhew, Dorothy McDowell and Cheryl Parker will demonstrate their skills; and award-winning works from the Miller Art Museum’s 45th Annual Salon of High School Art by high school artists Mackenzie Ellefson, Katie Frank and Claire Tellstrom will be on display.

As this year’s featured artist, Jeanne Kuhns has painted a work titled “Like the Wind” for a raffle following the art sale. Raffle tickets cost $5 each or six for $20 at the event or in advance at the Miller Art Museum, Aug. 19 – Sept. 17. The raffle winner need not be present to win.

An Artrageous Benefit supports the WFDC’s mission of empowering, enriching and nurturing the lives of women and girls in the community.
